The past several years have been very inspiring for Payadora Tango Ensemble. We have performed all across Ontario and recently toured in Nova Scotia. We performed with London Symphonia and are being featured with the Hannaford Silver Brass Band October 22nd at St Lawrence Centre. Our first album which was praised by critics as “a timeless classic” (The WholeNote Magazine, 2015) has been played on Jazz FM's Café Latino on numerous occasions.
All these experiences led to many new connections with our fans and other artists (orchestras, dancers, singers). Inspired by our audiences and collaborations, we wrote new arrangements of traditional and contemporary tangos, but also our own original music! We are excited to record and also release the new album by the end of this year.
However, recording a new album requires significant time and financial investments. In order to support the creation of our new release we will do a fundraiser concert on Wednesday, October 18th at Gallery 345. Following the big success from our performance at the same venue from a few months ago, we invited Uruguayan tango singer, Elbio Fernandez, to join us for this occasion! Also, our accordionist, Branko Dzinovic, will perform on the bandoneon, an Argentinian concertina-like instrument, and a symbol of tango, for the first time in concert! The performance will be followed by a reception. More information about the event, you can find here.
For all of those who cannot attend this exciting performance, we have launched an Indiegogo campaign. Here you can explore various ways to support our new endeavor.
Should you have any questions in regard to our performance or campaign, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are always happy to answer your questions!
We would love for you to be a part of this record and for you to help us make our passion for tango music available for everyone to enjoy with this next record.
